We are delighted to inform you that we will be partnering with David Muriithi, aka DJ D-Lite, one of Kenya’s greatest entertainment artists, to showcase the finest Kenyan Jazz for you to enjoy after the formalities of the AGM and Balozi’s Q&A session. Some of the artists that will be featured are Aaron Rimbui, Nairobi Horns Project, Valerie Kimani, Shamsi Music, Eddie Grey amongst other talented musicians. You will have an opportunity to purchase and stream their music at the cocktail hour so get your purses and wallets ready to support this worthy cause to promote the Kenyan Arts sector.

DJ D-Lite oozes charisma and his beaming onstage persona paired with his intrinsic command over whichever crowd he plays for is but one of the reasons why he has remained relevant to a wide local and international demographic over the past 32 years. Often nicknamed “The Legend” his experience is unparalleled in the East African entertainment industry.

His fanbase stretches from 25yrs to the 50+ yrs demographic – A rare feat.

  • Official DJ for Pres. Barack Obama 2008 visit to Kenya.
  • Official opening DJ for various international acts (UK/Kenya) including Run DMC, Simply Red, Brand New Heavies, Kool & The Gang, James Ingram, Freddie Jackson amongst others.
  • Official DJ for the Safaricom International Jazz Festival since inception in 2014.
  • Official DJ for various concerts including Blankets & Wine, Koroga Festival, Octoberfest.
  • 1st African DJ to play in Ibiza
  • DJ’d in over 10 countries around the world including Brazil, Ethiopia, Nigeria, England and Malaysia to name a few.
  • Played in all the leading clubs and nightspots in Kenya worthy of a mention.

 

DJ D-Lite is also a property entrepreneur, corporate emcee, business skills trainer for creatives and an IP expert. He was also the East Africa business agent for the late Afro-Jazz legend Hugh Masekela for over 2 decades. He sits as a trustee on the highly influential London-based Rumi Foundation.
