Agnes is a partner at GBS Africa (A boutique Africa focused Advisory services Firm).
Her role involves providing strategic advisory on Africa’s political and economic risks , market entry and stakeholder management for businesses working in Sub Saharan Africa. Agnes has worked with various development agencies including UNCTAD, Commonwealth Secretariat, Trade & Finance Ministries in East Africa; advising on greater global market access and trade competitiveness for the region’s products. She was involved in writing a research paper on new products for East Africa to consider exporting to the UK post Brexit. She is a trustee at Five Talents UK (A Microfinance charity) and a board member of Courteville Business Solutions and the Intra Commonwealth SME association. Agnes works with the legal fraternity across East Africa to promote and build the region’s arbitration capacity through the Labfa Network and the East Africa International Arbitration Conference where she is a committee member.
Agnes continues to work and engage with the country’s leadership in private and public sector to promote flows of trade and investments. She supported Kenya’s roadshow for the debut Eurobond issuance in 2016 and consequently advised on Kenya’s attractiveness as a destination for trade and investment. On politics and economic prospects, Agnes has shared insights on various platforms including : AlJazeera, BBC Business Edition, TRT world, Bloomberg and FD intelligence.
The Kenya Society provides a platform for Agnes to engage with Kenyans and Friends of Kenyan in the UK. It also provides an opportunity for networking and shared experience. I have known the leadership of the Society for many years and admired the efforts to stand by Kenya at all times.
For services to business and Innovation, Agnes was awarded, The Africa Diaspora (TAD) Honorary Business Leader award at the Africa Diaspora Awards (2019).
