Angela Kolongo
Angela is a seasoned PR and Communications professional with over 13 years of
experience specialising in media, public relations, and digital diplomacy.
Currently, Angela works at ODI, a global affairs think tank based in London, where
she is the Public Affairs Manager for the International Economic Development Group (IEDG). In this role, she plans and implements communications strategies and events to engage key audiences with IEDG's research and analysis on trade, investment, and economic transformation. She also leads communications for the Supporting Investment and Trade in Africa (SITA) Programme, an FCDO funded initiative supporting African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) negotiations and implementation. Angela's previous experience includes communications and public affairs roles at the Commonwealth Secretariat, the Ethiopian Embassy in London, and the US Embassy in London, gaining extensive experience in international relations and diplomacy.
Through her involvement with the Society, Angela hopes to use her skills to contribute to the Society’s work and engage with more like-minded Kenyans, network, and maintain her connections with Kenya. Born and raised in Nairobi, Angela later lived in Moscow before settling in London in 2004.
