Cliff Ferguson

Executive/ Chair/ Trustee

Cliff Ferguson is an Executive & Non-Executive Director, Chair and Trustee with a strong academic record and more than 30 years’ experience in a wide variety of clients and sectors. I am the Chair of the charity Glad’s House, a small but dynamic UK based charity that provides support for the street children & young people of Mombasa, Kenya. With the help of the Trustee Board, I organise the fundraising activities in the UK and set-up and monitor the various ‘enterprise schemes’ in Kenya.

The Society offers me a comprehensive understanding of Kenya and how it operates

Being a member of the Kenya Society allows me to meet fellow members who have a comprehensive understanding of Kenya and how it operates. Also provides the opportunity to hear interesting speakers talking about Kenya and their experiences. Anyone who has an interest in Kenya should definitely join.

I have been involved regularly with Kenya since 2005 but had visited before then. My wife and I visited Mombasa in 2005 when their daughter was on a gap year working with Street Children in Mombasa. Having met some of Victoria’s colleagues we decided to help and the charity Glad’s House was formed. Since then we have been frequent visitors and have helped established well respected practices supporting street children and young people in Mombasa. This support includes many ‘enterprise schemes’ providing meaningful employment for young people who have left the streets and return to community living.
