‘The society gives me a chance to interact with Kenyans and friends of Kenya’

Despite having lived in the UK for over two decades, James’ Kenyan cultural orientation still echoes. He is a community leader and mentor of the 1000+ Kenyans living in Reading, and participates in their social gatherings, including the popular annual summer Kenyan Families in the Park event that attracts over 4000 visitors. One of the African sayings that guides his social values is “You can disengage from all things but not from your people and agemates”.
