Matthew Ward
Co-founder/ Trade Advisor
Matthew is a dual citizen of Kenya and the UK. He moved to UK from Kenya in 2017 with his wife, Charlotte, and their two boys. They now live in Lymington on the South Coast, while maintaining extensive family and business links with Kenya.
Matthew was a non-executive director of the British Chamber of Commerce Kenya for six years. He still ‘side hustles’ for the Chamber, as a UK-based trade advisor. He is looking forward to helping the Society in assisting Kenyan entrepreneurs looking for trade and investment opportunities in the UK. Matthew is a UK trustee of the Faraja Cancer Support Trust, which mobilises funds to provide practical, emotional and healing support for anyone in Kenya affected by cancer.
In his day job, Matthew is co-founder of Levanter, a business development and communications consultancy with offices in Kenya and UK. Levanter advises a range of organisations, including M-KOPA, The Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife, The County Government of Nakuru, M-TIBA, EY and The Nairobi Securities Exchange. Previously he was the head of business development for PwC in East and West Africa.
